High school football star Cameron is shocked when his best friend and fellow athlete, John, is killed in a car accident. Feeling responsible for the crash, Cameron sets out to honor his friend's memory by accomplishing John's goal of breaking the sub-four-minute mile. Met with strong opposition from his football coach and demanding father, Gary, Cameron continues to pursue his goal, despite risking his own future.
